1. Picnic & Swim at 1770 Foreshore at High Tide
With loads of shade and grass, the 1770 Foreshore is a fantastic place to set down a picnic blanket and soak up the safe surrounds of one of the most popular swimming spots in 1770.
Air Sea Rescue Park is located a short 10 min drive from Agnes Water. The sandy beach is calm and a popular swimming spot for families with children due to the calm clear water. The best swimming is at high tide so be sure to plan your visit. Check the tides here.

2. Holiday activities at the Agnes Water Library
The Agnes Water Library hosts a variety of FREE activities each school holidays. Suitable for children of all ages, the Library offers school holiday programs, materials and activities that are fun interactive and the location is just around the corner from Gibsons Pet Friendly Accommodation.

3. Paperbark Forest Walk
Commissioned and built by Bush Heritage Australia, this unique walk takes in the sights of the otherwise unpassable magical wonderland of Agnes Water’s Paperbark Forest. The short walk has a mix of unique concrete pillar stepping stones, and long timber length boards so the walk is still achievable when the forest floor is wet. This cool shaded walk offers the experience of a unique natural environment that at certain times of the year, is littered with hundreds of butterflies.

4. Captain Cook Drive Bike Trail
From Agnes Water all the way to 1770 there is a wonderful walk/bike trail. Once you make it through the hustle and bustle of the Agnes Water township, Captain Cook Drive separates into a great walking or biking track for approx 8k’s all the way to 1770 Marina Cafe (read our write up on the best places to eat here)
5. The 1770 Butterfly Walk
From the 1770 Captain Cook Monument, this fun child friendly walk explores the beautiful bushland scrub of the 1770 headland and is often littered with hundreds of butterflies. In the cooler months of Autumn and Winter the butterfly population can explode and the walk feels enchanted and magical no matter what your age is!
This easy 1.2 km walk weaves through dry bushland, thick palm forest and offers beautiful elevated views over Bustard Bay, 1770.
6. Feed the Fish at the 1770 Marina
Head down to the 1770 Marina and off the pier (there are two spots you can check out) you can see a variety of fish swimming around. At the Marina cafe you can purchase a bag of fish food for $2 and watch the feeding frenzy happen right before your eyes! If you are keen you can take your rod and try your luck. Bream are very popular here, and it is a great place to teach the littlies how to fish.
